407 Minutes of the Meeting held on Wednesday, 2nd August, 2006
 Resolved:

That the minutes of the meeting held on 2nd August 2006 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.
408 Licensing Act 2003 - Review of Statement of Licensing Policy and Overview of Progress on Licensing Administration and Enforcement
 The Committee considered a report of the Corporate Director Enterprise, Tourism & the Environment which advised of progress with the current consultation on the review of the Licensing Policy and apprased Members of changes to the Government's guidance to Licensing Authorities.

The Corporate Director Enterprise, Tourism & the Environment drew Members attention to the timeframe to complete the review and for revisions to the licensing policy to come into force. The final policy document must be considered at Full Council on 13th December 2007 to comply with the legal requirements for implementation of the policy by the beginning of January 2008.

The Committee provided a range of views concerning the policy and in particular on the Cummulative Impact element. The Committee generally supported the continuation of the Cummulative Impact element but recognised that stronger evidence was required in relation to crime and disorder to warrant the continuation of commulative impact within the policy.

Resolved:

That the Corporate Director Enterprise, Tourism & the Environment consult further with Members of the Committee on the Council's Statement of Licensing Policy and that their views be included in the final report to Cabinet.
