Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places 2007
1. That Polling Places be defined as the Polling District except for those detailed in Appendix 2 to this report where the polling place be extended to include the existing polling station as it is outside the relevant polling district. 2. That Polling district EA be split to create a new polling district incorporating Shoebury Garrison Site with effect from the audit of the Register to be carried out in the autumn of 2008. 3. That delegated authority be given to the Electoral Registration Officer, in consultation with the chairman, to make any minor changes to polling places that may arise other than as part of a review.
Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007: new powers for local authorities in England concerning electoral matters
That the powers granted under the above legislation to enable Local Authorities to vary their electoral arrangements be noted.
Local Government Elections - Staff Fees
1. That Presiding Officers and Poll Clerks be paid fees equivalent to those paid at Parliamentary Elections (European and National). Such fees to be revised for local elections when they are revised for Parliamentary Elections. 2. All other election staffing fees to be at the discretion of the Returning Officer, but to be within the overall budget allocation for elections.
