3 Minutes of the Meeting held on Wednesday, 26th June, 2013
Resolved:

That the Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday, 26th June, 2013 be noted.
4 London Southend Airport Monitoring Report
Resolved:

1. That the monitoring data contained in London Southend Airport Annual Report 2013/14 for the 12 month period 1st March 2013 - 28th February 2014 and the Section 106 Agreement Year Summary 2013/2014 (Appendices 1 and 4 respectively) which demonstrates general compliance with the obligations contained in the relevant planning agreements and leases, be noted.
2. That the details of complaints received in the 12 month period 1st March 2013 - 28th February 2014 (which showed a marked reduction compared with the previous year) as contained in the Annual Report, be noted.
3. That the remaining contents of the Annual Report and the very satisfactory and successful position reported be noted.

4The Chairman welcomed Mr Whawell and his colleagues to the meeting. Mr Whawell presented an overview of the Airport's Annual Report 2013/14 which detailed:

• Recent developments and growth at the Airport;
• The number of jobs created;
• Compliance with the strict controls on the Airport's operations; and
• The commitment to providing excellent customer service, whilst operating the Airport sustainably understanding the needs of the local community and passengers.

The Working Party then considered the Corporate Director's report and scrutinised the monitoring data contained in the Airport's Annual Report and the Section 106 Year Summary 2013/14 (Appendices 1 and 4 to the Corporate Director's report). Mr Whawell and his colleagues replied to Member questions and also confirmed a willingness to work with the Council to deliver further economic benefits to the town, including increasing tourism.
