Honorary Alderman Awards

To confer the title of Honorary Alderman on former Councillors Mr John Lamb and Mr Mike Stafford.

Councillor Courtenay proposed (seconded by Councillor Garston) that Mr John Lamb be admitted as Honorary Alderman.

 

Councillor Wakefield proposed (seconded by Councillor Cowan) that Mr Mike Stafford be admitted as Honorary Alderman.

 

It was unanimously resolved:

 

That, pursuant to Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the title of Honorary Alderman be conferred upon Mr John Lamb and Mr Mike Stafford in recognition of their eminent services to the Council.

Freedom of the City Award - Mr Roger Humphrey and Mrs Rosemary Pennington

To confer the title of Freedom of the City on Mr Roger Humphrey and Mrs Rosemary Pennington.

Councillor Garston proposed (seconded by Councillor Cowan) that Mr Roger Humphrey and Ms Rosemary Pennington be admitted as Honorary Freeman of the City of Southend-on-Sea.

 

It was unanimously resolved:

 

That Mr Roger Humphrey and Ms Rosemary Pennington, be admitted as the Honorary Freeman of the City of Southend-on-Sea, pursuant to S.249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, being a person of distinction who has rendered eminent services to Southend-on-Sea.

To confer the title of Freedom of the City on 217 Field Squadron (EOD&S).
