Remove Bus Shelter Eyesore outside Cult Coffee and Tattoos
We the undersigned petition the council to This petition is asking Southend Council to please remove the bus shelter directly outside Cult Coffee and Tattoos for these reasons:
1. Visual impact - Cult Coffee and Tattoos is one of the few artisan coffee shops on Leigh Road. The shop enhances Leigh Road for many reasons, one of which is because of its beautiful shop front, which the bus shelter currently blocks entirely. The bus shelter is an eyesore as the panels are scratched, dirty and graffitied. The shelter panels have been cleaned numerous times, but they are so heavily damaged that little can be done to improve the aesthetic of this.
2. Financial impact on the business - a customer recently stated they didn’t even know the coffee shop existed because the bus shelter blocks it entirely.
3. Serves little purpose - The bus stop/shelter is hardly used.
A council worker recently stated that little can be done to enhance the aesthetic of the bus shelter in its current state as all the panels would need replacing
Owner, Andy Yates, has emailed the Council on numerous occasions with no response, but he would like to say he is more than happy for people to stand/sit on the bench in his doorway for shelter if ever needed.
