Between January and mid-March 2021, there have been multiple accidents on Elmsleigh Drive in Leigh. But this is nothing new, with drivers regularly speeding between sets of traffic lights or taking corners at junctions with the road at speed. As a through road connecting close to the A127 to the A13, this is a consistently busy road, where a lack of safety mechanisms is clearly putting drivers and pedestrians at risk. As local residents, we urge the council to consider a speed limit, stop signs at Manchester Drive or other conditions, to improve public safety.
