Fully integrated Cycle network
We the undersigned petition the council to To deliver a fully integrated cycle pathway network.
1) Allow parents to take the kids to school on child safe cycle pathways.
2) develop at least two family safe north to south cycle paths so that the people of the City can enjoy the seafront without jumping in cars. ( net zero) or driving their bikes to the sea front??
3) Link the fantastic parks with great walks and cycle paths
For the size of the City, it has a very poor infrastructure for
healthy living and safe cycle ways.
Cycling is Net Zero and should be in every plan.
We have a great sea front, the national mountain bike park a 100
metres outside the City, Hadleigh castle, Old leigh, the Seafront
and the Garrison. These are rides which visitors would love to
explore on bikes, this has been a source of a proven additional
income in other city's and coastal resorts. It will also start to
reshape the narrative around what Southend is.
