Southchurch Park Lake Safety Rail
The overall cost to the council for this safety rail is £25,000. Councillors Woodley and Stafford are prepared to use all the funds from their Community Infrastructure Levy to match funds with the council contribution of £15,000. The council have already committed £7500 to replace only part of the safety rail. Therefore, the council only needs to find a further £7500 to complete the whole safety rail. They say there is not sufficient funds, yet they are paying one consultant £1000 a day to work for them. How much does this council value a childs life? We say there should be no value to a childs life. Please sign to ensure our children in Thorpe, Southchurch, Kursaal and St Lukes Wards and any visitors are kept safe from falling into the lake, as we have recently had two incidents of a child being rescued from the water.
