I have spoken to many residents in Elms Ward and the roads aren't wide enough to support two way traffic with so many cars parked down them.

One way traffic will prevent cars reversing to let traffic pass in the opposite direction. It also provides opportunities to create more parking spaces as crossing areas won't be required.

Quite a few residents described to me how many issues the current two way system causes, such as damage to pavements when cars have to mount the kerb, and frustration when cars have to reverse a long distance to find a space to pull in. This could all be avoided by adopting a one way system.
