Resolved:

That the minutes of the meeting held on 14th September 2009 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.
54 Hackney Carriage Licensing Charges
The Committee considered a report from the Corporate Director Enterprise, Tourism & The Environment which informed Members of the proposed Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Fees for 2009/10 and representations made in response to the publication of the proposed fees.

A number of taxi trade representatives were invited to the meeting and they made representations in respect of the proposed Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Fees for 2009/10.

Resolved:

1. That Cabinet be recommended not to apply the proposed increases to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Fees for 2009/10 and that a Working Party be established comprising Council and Trade representatives to look at the appropriate way forward on taxi and private hire licensing fees.

2. That the report be noted and the views presented by Trade representatives be included in a further report to Cabinet on the proposed Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Fees for 2009/10.
