889The Sub Committee received a report of the Corporate Director Enterprise, Tourism and the Environment concerning an application by Essex Police for the review of the premises licence in respect of Mayhem Nightclub, The Basement, Maitland House, Chichester Road, Southend-on-Sea, Essex SS1 2JY.

Acting Inspector I Hughes (Essex Police), Jackie Flynn (Police Licensing Unit) and Ann Shorety (Police Licensing Unit) were in attendance at the meeting. Mr G Stokes (Designated Premises Supervisor and Manager) and Mr R Daby (Respondent's Solicitor) were also in attendance.

The Sub Committee noted that the Police and Licence Holder had agreed a new set of conditions to be attached to the Licence and, on this basis, the Police did not want to continue with this application. The conditions were attached to the report of the Corporate Director Enterprise, Tourism and the Environment No. DETE 13/03 at Appendix 2.

The Sub Committee accepted the proposed resolution of the application on this basis.
