To agree that, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the item of business set out below on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act, and that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

The Committee considered an appeal against refusal submitted by employee PP. The Council's case was presented by SMH, supported by SP.  One witness was called by the Council and responded to questions. 

The appellant, PP was in attendance, supported by TS (union representative), and presented their case.  The appellant did not call any witnesses.

Having considered all the evidence and submissions made, the Committee:

1. That the appeal be dismissed and the decision to withhold redundancy pay be upheld.
